Artist Statement: Tide Swept Pottery Works

At Tide Swept Pottery Works, my creations are a reflection of my deep connection to the sea, my faith, and the intricate beauty of the natural world. Each piece I craft is inspired by the rhythmic motion of the ocean, the serene creatures that inhabit it, and the timeless symbolism christianity, which profoundly influence my designs. 

Using a combination of earth, fire, and water, I strive to create meaningful works of art that blend durability with delicate beauty. Each ceramic piece is meticulously handcrafted in Southern California, fired at over 2,100ºF to achieve a lasting, glass-like finish. From the vibrant tones of "Dungeness Claw Red" to the rustic charm of "Tanned Rust", every finish reflects the textures and colors of coastal landscapes.

My pieces—whether a necklace, a magnet, or another work of art—are thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of the the strength and serenity of the ocean and the christian symbols of faith, hope and love. While their handcrafted imperfections remind us of the beauty in uniqueness.

Through Tide Swept Pottery Works, I aim to craft items that carry personal meaning, inspire joy, and resonate with those who wear or use them. My hope is that each piece serves as a small reminder of the enduring power of the sea, the faith we hold on to, and the creativity that connects us all.
